Kim Kardashian: I Gained 10 Lbs on "Street Meat"

http://cdn.usmagazine.com/uploads/assets/articles/38790-kim-kardashian-i-gained-10-pounds-in-nyc/1297202346_kim-cover-206.jpgFor Kim Kardashian, New York City was hazardous to her health.

While filming Kourtney & Kim Take New York with her older sis, 31, "I gained like 10 pounds," the reality star, 30, tells the March issue of Harper's Bazaar.

The culprit? No gym time ("I worked out once," she admits) and lots of snacking. "All the papers were like, Kim's pregnant!" says Kardashian, who dresses up as Cleopatra for the issue and even interview's the 1963 film's star, Elizabeth Taylor. "I ate the nuts on the street corner, the hot dogs, the street meat. It was not a joke."

Now the E! star is hard at work trying to regain her healthier habits.

"I'm on a diet," she tells the mag. "I need to be. I love to eat—Kit Kats or cookies-and-cream ice cream. I need sugar like five times a day."

Continues Kardashian, "I'm the first to say I have to work out extra hard, and it's such a struggle for me to eat healthy."

One thing that seems to be coming easily, however, is her foray into music -- she recently filmed her first video with her "good friend" Kanye West.

"I can carry a tune, yeah," she tells the mag. "I have a cute little voice. I talked to people in the business, and they said, 'This is what we do for fun. You go to the movies, you go shopping, why don’t you try what we do?'"

She's fresh off of getting married to comedian Russell Brand, and Katy Perry is now featured on the December 2010 cover of Harper's Bazaar magazine.

In the interview, the "Thinking of You" singer talks about being Mrs. Brand, her risqué style, body image, and more while having partaken in a glamorous photo shoot accompanying the spread.

On her husband, Russell Brand, and his spiritual quest, Katy tells, “I always knew I wanted a great man of God, someone who was going to be an inspiration for people and also be a lovely husband and father. We’re at different places in our lives, but we can still grow together. He’s thought-provoking, articulate, a real advocate. I also definitely wanted to have a laugh. I have all that in him.”

As for being part of a new generation of pop stars including Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Fergie, Perry dishes, “We’re all unique. That’s why we all win and we all can exist. People don’t want just vanilla. They want 31 flavors. I couldn’t do what Rihanna does. I couldn’t do what Gaga does. They can’t do what I do.”

Also touching on her image, Perry dishes, “I’m kind of a good girl—and I’m not,” she says. “I’m a good girl because I really believe in love, integrity, and respect. I’m a bad girl because I like to tease. I know that I have sex appeal in my deck of cards. But I like to get people thinking. That’s what the stories in my music do.”

Lauren Conrad Mocks Heidi's Playboy Cover

In August's Harper's Bazaar, Lauren Conrad takes Heidi and Spencer Pratt to task over their fame-seeking ways -- and her former BFF's boob job.

Conrad is asked why Montag decided to pose in the September issue of Playboy.

In a sly reference to Montag's cosmetic enhancements, Conrad replies, "They're not going to pay for themselves."

Her digs don't stop there.

"I don't call magazines and let them know about things so they can write stories," she says of the Pratts. "There was never an incentive to keep doing The Hills so I could get into [Hollywood club] Les Deux. That was never the point. It was more to create a fan base so I can go create a business and do something I really love doing."

She also slams them for wearing masks in Mexico during the recent swine-flu scare following their May wedding.

"I don't know if it was so funny because people really were being affected by that disease," she says. "But otherwise [Heidi and Spencer] are very entertaining. You have to laugh."

Lauren Conrad: Speidi isn't Brangelina!

We see less of LC now that she's living her life off the small screen, but she's still finding plenty of stuff to do beyond The Hills. In addition to keeping her pup Chloe perfectly styled, she has been at the top of the New York Times best-seller list for two weeks in a row. Lauren also recently sat down with Harper's Bazaar after posing for a photo shoot in a dark wig to chat about her what happens after reality TV. She said:

  • On Heidi and Spencer vs. Angelina and Brad: "They're completely different. The next time Angelina and Brad go shopping in the market and Angelina holds up two melons and smiles for a photograph, then they will be similar. . . .The face mask on vacation: I don't know if it was so funny because people really were being affected by [swine flu]. But otherwise [Heidi and Spencer] are very entertaining. You have to laugh."
  • On fame: "The last three concerts I went to, I was removed by security because I was a fire hazard. People crowd around you and you lose that whole personal-space concept."
  • On leaving The Hills: "My roommate went to Europe for two months, but I couldn't take a vacation without clearing it months and months ahead of time. My friends all got to date guys who didn't need to sign a release form. It literally affected the underwear I had to buy because I needed thicker underwear with a more sturdy band so it could hold up a microphone. I couldn't wear whites or prints because they don't look good on film. I had to consult a director of photography when I picked the paint for my walls because I had to have set lighting in my living room and kitchen. I had to have separate birthday parties for my filming and nonfilming friends. It's a closed book. I'm done. Against everyone else's will, I'm trying to take a break."
